Medicaid is a joint federal-state program that provides health coverage or nursing home coverage to certain categories of low-asset people, including children, pregnant women, parents of eligible children, people with disabilities and elderly needing nursing home care. Medicaid was created to help low-asset people who fall into one of these eligibility categories "pay for some or all of their medical bills.

Medicaid provide medical assistance for low-income people so they may have access to health care services

there are various medical services offered by Medicaid, but it has very strict eligibility guidelines. the guidelines may also vary from one state to another. Some of the eligibility also depends on age, pregnancy status, disability status, other assets, and citizenship.

With this, many middle class appeal that they dont get enough from their taxes. They are often refused by Medicaid unless they spend down their assets and meet the required asset limit. This is also the reason why many Americans are advised to insure on their own.
