can singing cause throat cancer?

I heard that singing can cause cancer of the throat is this true or something to scare people?

yes this is true...when your vocal cords rub together and cause friction it can cause painful nodules to form these can inturn become cancerous. its more common in women then men

No, singing cant cause cancer!! Anything we do will cause atleast something but saying directly that if you sing you will have cancer is wrong, even singing is not the only reason for cancer, or lata mangeshkar would have been dead till now.
