Aakash Tablet is produced by Datawind. Datawind is a British company and it is producing Aakash Tablet with special support from Government of India.

The current Price is set to Rs 2999. Indian Students can avail this tablet at much cheaper price anything between Rs 1000 to Rs 1500 by contacting their college administration.

Aakash is loaded with Android OS 2.3,  2 GB internal memory, Cortex A8, 700 Mhz Processor with HD Video Co Processor, 256 MB RAM, 2 USB ports, 3.5 mm high quality audio jack,  7" Display with 800x480 pixels, wifi, gprs and also support connection of 3G dongles. And it's a Phone to make/receive voice calls

What else one can get at RS 2999 having this huge feature list. Initially it was found some problem with its resistive screen but they are claiming to have solve this issue.

Well, If you will ask my opinion it is worth going for Aakash Tablet.
