Does yoga work for burning fat?

I am trying to reach a weight loss goal in about 6 weeks and am wondering if my regular yoga workout will help me drop the pounds or if I need to add in some true cardio. Is yoga good for burning fat? Or more for just toning?

I think fusion of both could bring fast results. But I have never tried yoga and cardio together.

Yes, yoga can help you to burn fat, but I don't know if just yoga would be enough in the time frame of your goal. I would probably do yoga in addition to some cardio a few times a week. There are some good fat burning yoga routines as well as some great articles about yoga and weight loss at www.yoga.com.

Yes yoga can work against burning fat, because is used to keep our body fit. And if our body is fit then fat can't reach us.
